Quick Help

Manage or Cancel Arthour Pro

Arthour Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple.

To manage or cancel your subscription, open your Apple ID subscription settings on your device. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple through Apple’s refund process. Arthour cannot issue App Store refunds directly.

If Arthour does not recognize an active subscription:

  • Confirm you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for purchase.
  • Check your App Store purchase history and subscription status.
  • Restart Arthour after purchase or renewal.
  • Use the in-app restore or refresh subscription option, if available.
  • Contact support with subscription status details if the issue continues.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account in the app:

Profile tab → Settings → Account → Delete

Account deletion is permanent. Arthour 1.1 coordinates deletion of backend account data with private iCloud scan backups for the current Arthour account and the Apple iCloud account available on the device. It cannot remove backups in another Apple iCloud account. If deletion fails, follow the retry instructions. Copies saved to Apple Photos are managed separately in Photos. Deleting an Arthour account does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Export Your Data

You can export backend account data and available private iCloud scan backups in Arthour 1.1:

Profile tab → Settings → Account → Export Data

The export combines the backend archive, including account-backed notebook media, with scan-history records and images from the Apple iCloud account currently available on the device. You may need to sign in again for this sensitive action. If iCloud is unavailable or the account changes, retry when the same accounts are available. Export does not include your entire Apple Photos library.

If you want a copy of your data, export it before deleting your account. For a broader access or portability request, including categories not available through the in-app export, contact privacy@arthour.com.

Clear Photos or History

You can clear photos or history without deleting your full account from:

Profile tab → Settings → Account

or

Profile tab → Settings → Danger Zone

Clearing local photos frees app storage. It preserves private iCloud scan backups for recovery and does not delete Apple Photos copies or account-backed notebook media stored by the backend. Pro scan backup requires an active Pro entitlement, the matching Arthour account, and an available Apple iCloud account; notebook synchronization uses Arthour's backend separately.

For privacy-rights requests, contact privacy@arthour.com.

Advertising Tracking Choice

Arthour 1.1 asks whether Meta may measure app installs and launches using tracking permission. You can decline and continue using core app features. To change the permission later, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. This is separate from camera permission, account-policy acknowledgement, and iCloud scan backup.

Troubleshooting

Artwork Scan Failed or Looks Wrong

Scan recognition can be wrong or unavailable, especially for unsupported artworks or difficult photos.

Try these steps:

  • Make sure you are signed in.
  • Confirm you accepted the required scan, privacy, and AI notices.
  • Confirm you have an active Arthour Pro subscription or available scan allowance, if applicable.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Retake the photo in good lighting.
  • Fill most of the frame with the artwork.
  • Avoid glare, reflections, people, labels, frames, and steep angles when possible.
  • Try selecting the image from Photos instead of using the camera, or retake it with the camera.
  • Try again later if the backend is temporarily unavailable.

Login Issues

Try these steps:

  • Confirm the email address is typed correctly.
  • Check your inbox and spam/junk folders for verification or reset emails.
  • Wait a few minutes and request a new verification or reset email.
  • For Sign in with Apple, confirm you are using the same Apple ID.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Restart the app.
  • Contact support if the issue continues.

Offline Maps or Museum Content

Try these steps:

  • Confirm the selected museum or location supports visit tools or maps.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi or cellular data and reopen the museum hub.
  • Wait for content to finish downloading.
  • Make sure your device has enough storage.
  • Try switching city or museum, then return.
  • Restart the app.
  • Some museums and cities may not have maps or offline content yet.

Does Arthour provide official museum information?

Arthour is an independent museum companion. Unless expressly stated, Arthour is not affiliated with or endorsed by any museum, gallery, artist, rights holder, or cultural institution.

How do privacy requests work?
